Food Standards Agency allergen workshop - Cardiff

The Food Standards Agency in Wales are holding a series of workshops to discuss the public consultation on allergen information provision for food products that are prepacked for direct sale (PPDS).

This interactive workshop is open to consumers with food allergies, businesses (who sell food PPDS) and local authorities based in Wales. We will be asking attendees to discuss the provision of allergen information for food sold pre-packed for direct sale, and specifically the policy options set out in the consultation.

PPDS is described as: Foods that may be sold in sandwich shops, cafés, burger bars, canteens or retailers, this could include, sandwiches, salads, individual pizza slices, hot foods such a rotisserie chicken or potato wedges that are prepacked on the premises in anticipation of an order, before being offered for sale.

This workshop is also taking place at the following locations in Wales:

Food Technology Centre, Anglesey, North Wales – Fri 22nd March, 9am to 12pm

Food Centre Wales, Ceredigion, West Wales - Tues 12th March, 10am to 1pm

Bydd yr Asiantaeth Safonau Bwyd yng Nghymru yn cynnal cyfres o weithdai i drafod yr ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus ar ddarparu gwybodaeth am alergenau ar gyfer cynhyrchion bwyd sy'n cael eu pecynnu ymlaen llaw i'w gwerthu'n uniongyrchol.

Mae’r gweithdy rhyngweithiol yma’n agored i ddefnyddwyr sydd ag alergeddau bwyd, busnesau (sy'n gwerthu cynhyrchion bwyd a gaiff eu pecynnu ymlaen llaw i'w gwerthu'n uniongyrchol) ac awdurdodau lleol yng Nghymru. Byddwn yn gofyn i'r rhai sy'n cymryd rhan drafod y ddarpariaeth o wybodaeth am alergenau ar gyfer bwyd sy'n cael ei becynnu ymlaen llaw i'w werthu'n uniongyrchol, ac yn benodol y dewisiadau polisi a nodir yn yr ymgynghoriad.

Dyma ddiffiniad o gynhyrchion bwyd sydd wedi'u pecynnu ymlaen llaw i'w gwerthu'n uniongyrchol:

Bwyd sy'n cael ei werthu mewn siop frechdanau, caffi, bar byrgyr, ffreutur neu fanwerthwr. Gallai hyn gynnwys brechdanau, saladau, sleisys pizza unigol, bwyd poeth fel cyw iâr rotisserie neu wedges tatws a gaiff eu pecynnu ar y safle yn barod ar gyfer archebion, cyn cael eu cynnig i'w gwerthu.
